Sewing community and friends

The sewing community and making friends with like minded people is the best.
When we took the course to learn how to patchwork and quilt we was scared and anxious leaving college with a Btec in fashion and running a craft group with the elderly.
But we was sure we wanted to learn the techniques so we went in the small room with our machines and loved learning all the process of making a quilt we left there and one lady became close and we used to go to her house where she carried on the lesions and we made things together we are still firm friends.
Then we joined our local quilt group which we now help run and it’s wonderful to see speak to like minded ladies we have good fun sharing the passion together.

Some we visit patchwork/fabric shops together or share the mini bus to shows the moment of show and tell on the way home is the best of what you have brought. And usually our mega packed lunch with face wipes are shared between everyone if it’s been a hot day. Which they laugh about on the way!

Then fast forward a few years Our lovely Auntie Sue Daley Queen of EPP and Uncle Jim visited from Australia 🇦🇺 we sat together stitching watching her stitch and chatting about the quilting world and how we look up to the experts and our favourite designers and Sue said you girls should join Instagram so she sat with us and taught us the basics. She showed us all our favourites and said it’s a wonderful community.
And it sure is full of inspiration opportunities and many lovely people we have met so many talented beautiful people who have helped us along our journey and such kindness.
We really adore that you share pictures and like others and can find any pattern by pressing on a hashtag.
Our ambassador work came from Instagram too such wonderful opportunities.
We never in a million years did we think people would like what we sew or pictures we take but they do. Sewing is definitely a big hug and never a lonely place.
Friendships form in all sorts of places.
We are so thankful for friends and likeminded chats.
The only bad thing about Instagram is when you need that fabric someone is destashing or it’s a new release. But as we say there worst habits. 🤣🤣
Be kind and spread kindness and have friends who care.
