Summer days and Review on pfaffs new multi-function foot control

Hello sorry we have took so long to add another post the days go by so fast and where in the middle of a heatwave so sewing has ground to a holt as our small box sewing room is south facing its blazing 🥵 🥵 we miss sewing hopefully this weekend when it’s cooler we will get in there we have been hand stitching in the garden in the shade some days.

The new pfaff new multi-function foot control we where nervous at first to try but after one week, of our loaned Pfaff performance icon and kit with this arriving, Wow 😯 😯 it’s heavy so we like how it stays in place and setting it up is so simple five functions to choose for the three buttons the sides you knock and middle press. Great for hands free quilting and piecing and sewers with arthritis in hands as no fiddly buttons to press. Great for visual impairments too as it’s all with touch from your foot no trying to see the buttons. It plugs into the side of the machine via a usb inlet. Inventions are amazing how technology moves on . We are lucky to work with pfaff uk feel so privileged. Pfaff are amazing brand thinking of improving technology and how to make there brand more accessible to all.

Mental health and being creative

  Hello it’s been a while it’s been pretty hectic around here that feeling like your running and can’t stop. Hopefully next week we have more time for self care (sewing) and catching up we must make time for ourselves you no your tried when you say yesterday but you mean tomorrow or buy Christmas cards and there 80 already under your bed brought in the sale in January lockdown and your memory is getting poor. Or you get the foot bowl out to soak your wary feet and it’s been there a week without doing them.  Being creative certainly helps your mental health everyone of there should make time for a little creative hour and keeps you thinking straight we are getting excited for our new sewing room we have been helping our daddy with the planning not long now to go. We had a trip to IKEA with mum to look at storage, desks and a cutting table which has a crank so it’s adjustable so no backpain and cutting against the wall is so annoying. Bridge quilters our local quilt group

  When we first attended our local Quilt group meeting 11 years ago after our course learning how to patchwork and quilt our teacher used to be a member and the groups shop with supplies. We was wracked with nerves going into a large church hall full of busy talented quilters we was thinking how will we settle and get as good as some of these. But having the same passion was all you needed we sat down and people came by and had a chat and asked what we was working on and did we enjoy the course. Fast forward 11 years we really look forward to the two meetings a month with the bridge between the towns hence the name Bridge Quilters one meeting is held in Widnes then the other is held across the bridge in Runcorn. We have had many venues since it begun and many members come and go but we think we have a wonderful group and community now over 30 members 7 new members since lockdown we are all friendly welcoming and there for the fun laughter education, quilty fabric talk, laughter, compan
